Only slept here for one night but room and facilities were great and very clean.

Liked: Location.

Poor - 1 out of 5

Judith W, Darlington, visiting O2 City Hall Newcastle Fri, 16 May 2014

Stayed here 10 years ago and had a fabulous room and enjoyed it. This time round we had a very small dark room at the back of hotel with a view of a wall. Very noisy with the huge kitchen extractor fan below our room and had no sleep. The mattress dipped in the middle and the hotel looked very tired.

Disliked: Very disappointing.

Phil, Corby, visiting Utilita Arena Newcastle Fri, 20 December 2013

Overrated. Very small room. Not value for money.

Liked: Very comfy bed.
Disliked: Very small room for a double. Nowhere to sit if you wanted breakfast in your room. Small reception desk - always seemed to have too many staff. No parking facilities - had to use a pay and display public car park nearby. Breakfast was an extra and expensive. We went for a short walk to the Eldon Square shopping centre and had a lovely breakfast for less than half the price. Generally OK but wouldn't stay there again.

Good spot for a day...

Liked: Very pleasant and helpful staff; good breakfast; interesting decor; great location.
Disliked: Room (on the first floor) a little dowdy and in need of a spot of TLC. A little noisy.

Disappointing - 2 out of 5

Disappointing

Liked: Location, cleanliness ,staff
Disliked: We were in room 31 and the room above had terrible noisy floor boards. The couple in the above room came in at 1.30am and were walking about until 3.30am as well as that we could hear the TV......not much sleep for us at all. Spoilt the whole experience for us, which is a shame because the hotel itself and the staff were lovely and the location was spot on

Good location, great spa.

Liked: Location was perfect, easy to get to Quayside, shops, Metro and St James Park.
Disliked: Quite noisy due to being located on main road.Room had an "accessible" bathroom which would have been fine for a wheelchair user but as we are not, and didn't ask or need this type of room, the toilet was too high and the basin was far too small and far too low! The sink has no plug so is impossible to fill with water. Wardrobe/hanging space unsuitable for hanging anything. Some extra attention to detail would make this a really good hotel.
