Liked: Beautiful peaceful environment and views. Lots of areas in the main building to sit and have a coffee. Amazing breakfast. Lovely walk to Henley by the river. Thoughtful touches by management, ie bottles of cold drinking water and room fans

Overall very nice indeed, and...

Liked: Breakfast and brasserie food very good. Staff excellent. Last minute request to swap double room to twin was granted, helping us out a lot. Stunning location and grounds.
Disliked: The bedroom (Lodden, ground floor) was unfortunately stiflingly hot throughout. Even with windows open on the second night (cooler outside) it was impossible to reduce the stuffiness. The two fans in the room were a welcome touch but still only moved the hot air around. I know there had been a heatwave so it’s probably a rare problem (and not really the hotel’s fault) and the water chiller on the foyer was also a welcome touch. Aircon would have been a godsend!

Liked: Beautiful old estate home with lovely gardens adjacent to the River Thames and a short drive from the Regatta.
Disliked: Check out is 9am, that’s too early for most people. And sadly there was no air conditioning in the rooms with the temperature outside at 31C. We couldn’t sleep it was so unbearably hot.
