Convenient location, but noisy room.

Liked: Good size room, very convenient location for the airport.
Disliked: Absolutely no sound-proofing, could hear planes very loudly all night as well as everyone coming and going in nearby rooms. Bathroom was a wet room and water was flowing everywhere, almost out the door of the bathroom itself.

Disliked: 1 A lot of noise from airplanes landing on Stansted airport.2 lack of aircondition. Difficult to open the windows enough.

Fabulous place to stay and...

Liked: Had a great stay before our holiday. The hotel was superb, with friendly staff, lovely grounds and good food. There is a lovely patio outside the restaurant looking out over the pond which was teeming with fish.There is also a quiet area to escape to if needed which was beautifully furnished.Prices were reasonable and we were made to feel very welcome.It is also quite close to Bishop's Stortford so we had the added bonus of a morning there before our flight.
Disliked: The bathroom didn't have a frosted window and the blind used was rattan, so it was quite see through. Our room was also right on the stairs so there was quite a lot of foot traffic immediately outside our door.

Liked: beautiful building and site. nicely laid out and clean throughout. Friendly receptionist. Good distance to stansted car park in early morning.
Disliked: On flight path of Stansted so planes flying over were very loud - in the morning we found ear plugs in the bedside cabinet drawers!! These could've been brought to our attention but weren't. There was no air con and it was extremely hot throughout the night (July heatwave) So windows needed to be open but the exacerbated the plane noise. Hardly slept despite comfortable enough bed.
