Wonderful, would stay again.

Liked: The building was fantastic (the smell of wood!), room was spacious and well appointed, bed was very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Sometimes you can hear planes flying over but that stops early into the night.

Nice place, but in the...

Liked: The hotel was in a good location, it had obviously been refurbished and brought up to date.
Disliked: The bathroom was missing a sink plug, no rail for towels and the extractor didn't work. The hotel is directly in line with Stansted Airports landing flight path, which meant it was incredibly noisy with a flight landing at 03:00. It was the worst nights sleep ever.

Hotel with a grand name...

Liked: The local English staff from this area of Essex were nice and friendly.
Disliked: It's not a 4star hotel, more 3 star. I'm disappointed there was no water, fridge, toilet brush or bath in the small bedroom. The room was very small and across the road from the hotel. When I complained about no drinking water the staff member said I had to buy it from the bar. I'm used to having a fridge and some treats to pay for in the room but there was no fridge. Strangely, the receptionist told me that none of the rooms have a toilet brush which means the room cleaners have extra work to do. The hotel has a posh name which inspires thoughts of a grand building and contents but it's a large house. Beware! it is under the flypath of nearby Stansted Airport and the planes land and take off nearby.
