The Spotlight on Grange Moor Hotel

Peaceful Comfort Near Maidstone's Music Scene

Modern convenience meets old-world charm at the Grange Moor Hotel, set in a quiet spot just 0.6 miles from Maidstone town centre. With its landscaped gardens, Tudor-style bar, and relaxing lounge areas, this hotel offers a calm, affordable stay for those heading to gigs or festivals in the area. Free parking and easy access to public transport make it a practical base for your music-filled weekend.

Why Concert-goers love it

Just a 15-minute walk from the River Medway and less than a mile from Maidstone West Railway Station, the Grange Moor Hotel is well-located for getting to and from concerts with ease. Its peaceful residential setting means you can enjoy a quiet night's sleep after a high-energy show. Late check-in from 15:00 lets you arrive at your pace, and while check-out is at 10:30, the relaxed vibe and comfy lounge make lingering a little longer feel natural.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for an affordable and sociable base
  • Solo travellers seeing their favourite artist and needing a safe, quiet stay
  • Couples making a romantic weekend out of a concert
  • Fans looking to unwind in a quieter post-gig atmosphere
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want comfort and charm

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and Tudor-style bar offer bar snacks and full meals, ideal for grabbing a bite before or after a show. Room service is available in the main building, and you’ll find several walkable eateries and pubs nearby in town. While not 24/7, the dining options are flexible enough for post-concert cravings, and breakfast is available to help ease into the day after a late night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more chill than party, its traditional bar is a cosy spot for a quiet nightcap. For more action, Maidstone's bars, clubs, and music lounges are a short walk or quick cab ride away, giving you the choice of how you want to end your night.

What People Say

Guests often mention the friendly staff, free parking, and peaceful location as highlights. Many appreciate the good value for money and find the rooms clean and comfortable. The lounge and garden areas get good marks for offering a relaxing atmosphere before or after an event.

Areas for Improvement

Some rooms are a little dated in decor, and Wi-Fi can be patchy in certain areas. Check-out at 10:30 might feel early for late-night concert-goers, so plan accordingly. But overall, the charm and convenience outweigh the quirks.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to a Maidstone concert and want a quiet, affordable hotel with easy access to music venues, Grange Moor Hotel is a solid choice.

Okay for one night

Liked: Staff were very friendly. Bathroom seemed clean.
Disliked: Bed was very stiff. Walls are thin and room next door were blasting the TV. There’s no wifi in the hotel. There was a hair on my pillow when I got to my room.

Lovely clean Hotel, great Location,...

Liked: Great location with good parking and very close to bus stops to and from Town Centre, just a 6 minute ride..Very close to The Walnut Tree pub which has a great evening entertainment program, with a Live Jam Session, the first Monday of the month, highly recommended..1 Just a 9 minute walk, from the Grange Moor Hotel
Disliked: Had to wait nearly 30 minutes for a receptionist to appear, although the front entrance was open at 6pm.- I appreciate staff coverage is a challenge for smaller hotels, but there was no obvious way of remotely summoning the receptionist - pressing the front door bell had no response, there was a sign behind the reception desk - ring for attention, but impossible to reach - and the resident guests in reception had no ideas either.. - was not an issue, just a comment…There was no hotel information card or book in the room…

Disappointing

Liked: The receptionist who greeted us was friendly and we appreciated being able to use the onsite parking.
Disliked: In the morning when we came for breakfast there was a very limited breakfast option and no staff around to ask for additional items. The bowls provided for the cereal for dirty and juice had run out but again there was no staff to dscuss this with
