Adequate beds were very comfortable,...
Liked: Cooked breakfast was just enough and well cooked and hot , coffee was luke warm both days, not much choice cereal wise
Disliked: When booking more than 1 night I think they should put in room extra coffee and milk

Very good
Liked: The bed was very comfortable and clean
Disliked: The heating was on and didn't need to be we had to have the windows open all night. It was very dusty. Water supply very slow and toilet would only flush properly unless we kept pressing it. And also I would maybe suggest having a big bottle of water in the room for the kettle as its sterilized

Disappointing
Liked: The location is perfect as it's very close to the town centre, staff were lovely and the dining room and bar, although we didn't use it looked very inviting.
Disliked: The hotel in its self is very run down and needs abit more care and attention as outside was rather unclean and old benches which didn't seem very sturdy, as you go to the back in the hotel area it becomes very old fashioned and in need of a re model. The hotel room was a nice size and clean but again very old and run down and the bed was not an easy sleep as the mattress was rock solid and felt like sleeping on a plank of wood.It just needs some money spent on it and it could be a wonderful hotel

Much room for improvement!
Liked: The manager, Michael, was pleasant, and our waitress, Grace, was very chirpy and friendly. The quality of the full English breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable. The room was plain, with a small window, but the view of the tower and west front of St Michael's Church (with trees in blossom) opposite was delightful.
Disliked: Our repeated requests for an extra chair to be put in the room and for the radiator to be looked at after it had been boiling hot all night were not acted on. On one day we also had to make a special request for tea bags and UHT milk. On another occasion a bag of waste had been removed from the bin, but left on the table. On our first night some guests opposite were making a kerfuffle, knocking on each other's doors and 'partying' until 2pm. This included the use of bad language and, bizarrely, the singing of songs like "In The Ghetto"! It wasn't that loud, but it was annoying and kept us awake. They were apparently eventually told to be quiet, and they were gone by the next day.The hotel was being redecorated. This was not a problem, but the Tudor-style beams inside had been whitewashed, which is a pity. Maybe they will be repainted in a darker colour.

Very disappointed
Liked: We have stared there a few years ago and liked the place so when we were invited to a wedding we booked again.
Disliked: The place has been left very run down. The room was very grubby. The light didn't work..the heating didn't work so the room was very cold..hot water from the tap ran out and couldn't get any hot water from the shower..door card didn't work so we had to get a key. Over all very disappointed..definitely won't be booking again.
