Located right on the seafront the prestigious Grand Hotel Vesuvio overlooks the Gulf of Naples the island of Capri and Mount Vesuvius. This hotel features a luxury indoor pool fitness center with personal trainer and a wellness area with hot tub sauna and steam bath. From April to October the Wonderful Sky Lounge Solarium & Cocktail Bar has full views of Gulf of Naples. Rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated. All air-conditioned they also feature a mini-bar and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Some have a balcony with sea views. The Vesuvio Grand Hotel serves a varied buffet breakfast each morning. The Caruso Roof Garden Restaurant on the 9th floor offers classic Italian cuisine and panoramic views across the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel is opposite the Castel dell'Ovo in the historic quarter of Santa Lucia. The port for boats to Capri Sorrento and other destinations is 15 minutes' walk away.

Disliked: Taxi in front of the hotel took us to the airport. Fare was Euro 28, but charged us for 45, he said he charges 5 per piece of luggage and 5 for something else (maybe toll). In any event, it sure is scam. I am sure the hotel staff who helps us get the taxi knows these tricks. It’s such an unpleasant experience. I hope someone will something about it. It reflects badly on the Italians.
