Great little hotel with amazing...

Liked: Room was clean. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was great value for what it provided. Hotel its self has lots to offer. Located in the heart of the marina so loads to do
Disliked: Bed was a bit lumpy. Think a new mattress is needed as you can feel the springs.

Don’t let the reviews scare...

Liked: Since I used to live in Folkestone over 20 years ago, I thought it would be nostalgic to stay at the same hotel that’s been around all this time. I was a bit hesitant after reading the reviews, but I’m glad I gave it a chance.Pros:•Amazing sea view from the room•Friendly and helpful staff•Room had everything I needed
Disliked: Cons:– Outdated décor– Rowdy chavvy clienteleThe main downside wasn’t the hotel itself, but the clientele. There were quite a few chavs with loud, badly behaved children, which made the communal areas feel a bit chaotic at times. If you avoid dining in and keep to yourself, the hotel itself is far better than many reviews suggest.

Liked: It’s well positioned for the beach
Disliked: It is extremely past its prime. The room was grubby, tatty and the bed was very uncomfortable. You could feel the springs.The staff looked very down trodden and fed up. The menu for dinner was the same in both restaurants so not a great deal of choice. The outside of the building looks shabby and could do with a complete makeover.

Liked: Price, £50 one night, booked at short notice, reception expecting me. Next to Folkestone harbour and Old High Street area.
Disliked: Room too hot. Long hairs caught in metallic shower hose (not mine).

Disliked: No soap available in the room, hotel did not have any. Room looked as if it had never been brought up to date. No one in restaurant taking note of guests having dinner!! Bed was much too hard. TV angle not correct for viewing from the bed.never again.
