Liked: This is a very trendy hotel is a good location not far from center of town. It has a terrific rooftop bar and pool and a clever, eclectic mix of decor. The valet parking service was probably the most efficient I've ever experienced.
Disliked: While it may seem like a small thing, I could not recommend this hotel due to a mere bathroom fan. The fan in the bathroom made it like sleeping at the airport. There was no separate fan switch from the light switch, so every time you turned on the light, that booming fan came on with it. As an example, I like to watch or at least listen to the news while getting ready in the morning. That was impossible here because of the fan. I even said something to the manager when I left as she asked for any quick comments. She said she had heard that complaint before. THEN FIX IT! Also, and I mean this as a constructive observation rather than a criticism, I would have liked the staff to be a little more informed about the area. I am a female traveling alone and had to go to the convention center. It was a pretty day and not too long a walk so I asked the front desk person if the distance was doable and the area was safe. She said yes to both and gave me directions. While the route she gave me was the straightest, it went through a few areas that seemed sketchy and uncomfortable to someone not familiar with the city. I took an Uber to another event, and he drove me to the hotel down a lovely, tree-lined historic street. I walked to the convention center that way the next day using the Uber's route and was so pleasantly surprised at what a great neighborhood I was in. That Uber route even passed the public library and the famous, historic Thomas Jefferson Hotel. I would just be nice if a front desk person knew those sorts of things.
