Needs a renovation to address...
Liked: The location is great
Disliked: The room smelled like mold. We asked to change rooms but no luck. This property needs a major renovation to address the moisture problem.

Overall stay was good!
Liked: The breakfast was good. I love the location and my room was very quiet.
Disliked: My key card didn’t work on the second day, so after walking all the way to my room, I had to go all the way back downstairs. When I arrived at the front desk, there was a note that the attendant was helping another guest and would return soon. I waited almost 10 mins for them to return to reset my key. It was very late at night so it was not ideal. The ‘gym’ leaves a lot to be desired. 2 treadmills were out of service and the free weights were rusty and the total gym equipment looked old and outdated. The whole gym really needs an upgrade. For the price the hotel charges per night, the gym should be nicer. The window sheers in my room were torn and ratty looking. And my shower door wouldn’t stay closed while showering so water got all over the floor.

Beyond disappointing, should’ve read online...
Liked: Location of hotel. And since older, and on street, it was a quiet room.
Disliked: Above it said I requested free parking-which I did not. I did request an early checkin-which never the Diamond Desk rep could get through to the front desk nor I do it was noted in the notes. First room assigned to room (king) was musty smelling and air conditioning wasn’t working. Relocated to first floor, queens-at this point I really needed to finish what I was in town for. Moving to the 1st floor I was happy as I wasn’t on the 4th,..the two elevators took forever-it wasn’t busy either. It appeared only one was working? But then I had to use a makeup pad to keep the sink plunger up so it would drain. Next morning, it came to light that the hotel was in rough shape. Had southern charm but was beat up and all white doors were badly scuffed and dirty. The baseboards down the hall in the room were “chewed up” and missing paint. And the lobby was a hangout for college kids to study? I paid $396 a night for this? If I could have a would have checked out but The Oliver down the street was sold out. I should have contacted during stay but I had places to be so I waited to call the Diamond Desk during my ride to the airport. Pictures probably would have been good-but the staff appeared to know it was in bad shape. The GM commented he had only been there a week and that things would be up to Hilton standards. Then if so bad, why was I excessively charged for the two nights at a noticeably subpar hotel. Not my standard either. As I will be returning to Oxford, I can’t stand there.
