Exceptional

Liked: The staff were very accommodating, the room was clean, nice and on the top floor like I asked, the view was gorgeous, the amenities were great.
Disliked: Maybe I would have liked more options for breakfast (in terms of vegetables, cheeses, meats and pastries) but there was still ample choice and the possibility of ordering custom eggs was fantastic. Overall, the breakfast was still pretty good and the staff were extremely kind.

Good

Liked: Stylish hotel in the best possible location. The lawn and terrace overlooking the river and the Fens is a treat.
Disliked: The service was terrible. Very slow in the restaurant for dinner - waiting 20 minutes just to get a drink, and then another long wait for food. The problem seemed to be a shortage of staff. Slow at breakfast too - asked 3 times for tea and in the end went up to the kitchen area to get it. This time there were enough staff - just seemed to be inefficiency and inattentiveness. We were being very polite too, so we weren't being punished for being rude to them!

Liked: Good location. Parking easy.
Disliked: Check in was slow. Had a soft drink late afternoon and was asked if I had booked a table to be allowed to sit in the garden for 15 minutes. Attitude of the garden gatekeeper was unfriendly and poor. Room very pleasant. But woken up at 6am by loud clanging and other noise as laundry lorry collected and dropped off large cages of laundry under my window. Went on for 30 minutes and then impossible to sleep. Why do this in middle of night under guest bedrooms??

Not good value for money,...

Disliked: Damp towels, no body wash.ajd a shower that won't drain!

Great location but hotel itself,...

Liked: Great location and with parking. Air conditioning worked well
Disliked: No water or glasses in room. Light switches all over the place with odd controls. A summer ball was in progress so very noisy until after midnight

Wonderful stay in Cambridge, what...

Liked: Location was perfect and breakfast was amazing.
Disliked: The balcony was tiny only one chair not enough room for another one so we couldn't sit out on the balcony together, which should be made clear when paying extra for a room with a balcony.

They could have done better.

Liked: Good location.
Disliked: I paid for parking. But parking eye who patrol their car park have sent me a fine for £100 for non payment of fee. This is ridiculous. They need to get their parking in order. Absolutely disgusted.

Liked: The location and the balcony with the view of the river
Disliked: The bar prices, which included a service charge of 12.5% for being served at the bar, and the parking charge of £26.50. I expected the latter but not the former, which felt very mean when the room was expensive. In similar priced hotels there are usually more extras, so the extra costs took the edge off the stay

Pleasant

Liked: The room was lovely and clean.
Disliked: 3 staff at reception, 2 standing chatting to each other, resulting in long delay registering as the one person managing everything themself.j
