Graduate by Hilton Berkeley

Seemed expensive at almost $300 for a small room of OK quality. Great place to chill at the bar before the show. Easy walk to the venue. Quick exit and easy walk back to the hotel. As far as making it easy to be near the show and have food and drinks available before and after - perfect hotel. I feel like maybe $150 ish for the room would better reflect the room quality.

Liked: Short walk to the venue; great staff; nice bar.
Disliked: Overpriced and no parking.

I would not recommend, unless renovations of rooms were performed.

Liked: Wonderful location! Has character. Could be a true boutique hotel, but needs major work.
Disliked: The odor in the room penetrated my suitcase and clothing. Rooms need urgent upgrades.

Liked: Great location near restaurants and eateries and within short walking distance to UC Berkeley. Front Desk Staff was super friendly and helpful. Food at Henry's and Poindexter was delicious.
Disliked: Perhaps there could be water available in the lobby area for guests.

Relevant location if you want...

Liked: Reasonable sized room
Disliked: No soundproofing of windows; shower was terrible. We complained about it, they looked into it and could not solve it. All we got as an answer was we reduced some taxes on your invoices. But main issue was not fixed and the person at the reception was really not interested in talking to us about it.

Rethink staying here.

Liked: The location. The beds are very comfortable.
Disliked: We booked a top floor big king room, and when we arrived, the hotel staff apologized and said that the previous guest did not check out in time for them to clean the room (he left at 10pm), we didn't check in until after 11pm.... then they gave us a very small queen room near the elevator, for $12.00 less than what the king room cost. They gave us a $25.00 credit towards the morning breakfast, but then there was an additional charge of $28.00 for a "destination" fee. We booked this room for my husband's birthday, which was a complete disappointment. This hotel ruined our stay. Also, the throw blanket on the foot of the bed had a red stain on it. Which is gross... and both elevators have a weird raffia/grass mat on the walls and smell bad. If you want a comfortable bed, but everything else is bad, then pay the high expense to stay here. Otherwise, you should rethink your stay.

Not good for sleeping

Liked: The walking distance to UC Berkeley was nice.
Disliked: The rooms are quite small and the walls are very thin, you can hear the conversations in the surrounding rooms. It was a bussy time and I was kept up late simply becuase the people on the room next to mine were talking, this should be of no fault to them but a very negative reflection of the building / accomodation. Its a very old building clearly, charming but not great for getting rest.

Passable

Liked: Good location near Berkeley campus.
Disliked: The onsite cafe, Poindexter, is sub-par and its breakfast was practically inedible.
