We had an enjoyable experience...

Liked: The antique furniture was amazing as was the deep soaker tub. The bed was very comfortable
Disliked: Because of the renovation going on, the place had an abandoned feeling about it.There was no cream for the coffee and only 1 tea bag.

Liked: it was nicely decorated on the inside
Disliked: too expensive and the breakfast was not included as the description initially stated - no discount was offered. I found this information very misleading.

Great destination to explore the...

Liked: No Breakfast. Great location. Property under renovation which was no problem for stay but explains maybe lack of staff and lack of breakfast. We had two rooms and although both rooms where very comfortable there was a large difference in ambience, where one room far exceeded expectations, and was located in the original "mansion" with all it's oppulence, the other was located in a "utilitarian" add-on that was not much different from a "Comfort Inn" motel, except much roomier, and in comparison, fell short of expectations. :-)All in all however, we liked it a lot.

Disappointing

Liked: It was rated a 3 star property and we have had good luck staying at similar ones.
Disliked: The inn was empty on arrival. We let ourselves in and found our room. My wife found the place musty and not very welcoming. We went for a short walk and to be honest not well located for any longer walks. Returning to the inn my wife was uncomfortable about staying in such a large house by ourselves. When we went for dinner would be returning to a dark unfamiliar place? At that point we decided to leave after we found a budget hotel closer to town.

Extremely beautiful and incredible collection...

Liked: It is an incredible living collection of history, situated right in the river and the owner is lovely.
Disliked: I was only there to sleep so it was a very brief stay.
