Disliked: Bed linen had marks on quilt cover & pillowcases , pillowcases also looked like they had pale light brown stains ! I fail to see how house keeping didn’t pick this up !!! We didn’t say at reception as staff were lovely!

Liked: A superb stay; no issues. Sadly it was only for one night. Everything was compact but well supplied, very clean and impressive. The staff were excellent. As is our usual scenario we had booked a meal elsewhere, and were many miles away by breakfast time, but there was no noise during the night and no hassles. The bathroom light was a bit of trouble, it comes on automatically if you go in and shines through the glass door lighting up the whole room for what seems like ages, but removing the card from the electric switch helped. The shower was superb. I would have given our stay a ten but for the bar..... see below.
Disliked: The bar. We arrived at 3pm, booked into our room and went to the bar, and were the only two people in it. There were a number of televisions showing sport and the noise was deafening. We literally couldn't hear each other. We moved tables twice and there were speakers everywhere, it really was painful on the ears so gave up and went to our room again. After our meal out we came back to the bar at 9pm, which was now showing football. Deafening noise, nothing but shouts and cheers from the other patrons, standing room only so we ended up at a table in the dining room. I know the sports brigade like to stand round the bar three deep and scream at the top of their voices if anyone ever even kicks a ball but for those of us who prefer quieter activities it's a bit off-putting, especially having to lean over and around these patrons when trying to order another drink. The hotel was new to us so we didn't know where else to go for a more relaxing experience.
