The Golden Eagle Motel was...

Liked: The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to take care of our needs. The king sized bed was very comfortable. There was a refrigerator and microwave, and the Amana air conditioner/heater worked very well.
Disliked: The room was very small and there was very little counter space to set our items. The sink was tiny and I don't know if the water would have ever warmed up. We just used cold water.

Liked: This is the only motel in town. The owners have continued to renovate and upgrade. Some of the problems noted in the past no longer exist at this location. The staff now checks you in accurately and the room is fine except for a few marks in the carpet and the cabinets being aged and obviously meant for another location. I own a property in the area that I come to work on, and stay here in the winter when it's too cold to camp. It's been a good value for that. WiFi is adequate but not great. There are three Mexican restaurants in town - dine at 6:00 p.m., they're not open late. Or you can microwave something in the room. There's a Dollar General that has most of what you'd need, a grocery, and a liquor store. For anything else you're going to Klamath Falls, a half hour to 45 minute drive.

Liked: The issues I reported previously have been resolved. The desk person was very conscientious in giving the exact price booked on Booking.com . There were no issues during the stay.This motel is the only place to stay other than a much more expensive B&B for about 30 miles around: to Weed or Klamath Falls. The lodgings are modest but comfortable, and inexpensive.I stay here in the winter when working on a campsite-like property in Macdoel. In the summer, I sleep at the campsite.
Disliked: This is a nice comfortable place to stay, but it's not the pretty place you'd want for a romantic getaway with your sweetie.
