My stay was one I...

Liked: Bad chemical smell in corridors from cheap cleaning materials also in bedroom but we opened window so not so bad. Cheap nasty sofa in bedroom. We had paid for what was meant to be a better room, it looked out onto a roof, cheaper rooms at least seemed to have street view. Breakfast was passable but nothing to be excited or complimentary about. Staff not exactly friendly or welcoming. We arrived for a funeral and asked if bags could be stored. We were told to leave them in an unsecured space by a rather surly young woman. When we came to collect them no one about to challenge us as to whether they were our bags. No staff engaged with us at any point in our stay including breakfast. We went out for diner.The funeral tea was basic to say the least, unappetising sandwiches, questionable sausage rolls, dried up cake and scones and what is the Tunnocks thing? Is it a promotion?In early evening went to meet family in bar area. The bar was full blocking access as a coach party had arrived and been funnelled in there with their luggage. Not a good experience for them and definitely not for us.Overall our stay was brief thank goodness but as a place to meet up with family and old friends it did not meet expectations.
Disliked: I think I have explained above. Smell of cleaning fliuid, unhelpful staff who do not engage, poor quality food and lack of organisation for greeting guests on arrival.
