Avoid The Globe Hotel at...

Liked: We ended up staying in the partner hotel Star Anglian which was very clean & due to an upgrade a very comfortable room.
Disliked: When we arrived the hotel was locked & no staff available, after calling them someone turned up & we were told there was no booking for us, after 40 minutes and the arrival of another member of staff who found a booking, we were shown rooms in the hotel next door. The Globe hotel was very tired looking & didn’t look clean. The rating reflects The Globe Hotel and not the Star Anglia which was ok. However it’s a strange set up with no staff on hand should there be a problem.

Liked: Staff were very friendly. Had a fault with the kettle in my room (kept tripping the electrics) so rang reception to ask for replacement. One was provided to my room shortly after and had no problems.

Liked: Lovely staff, and an easy walk to the town (5 mins). Clean and easy. Nice bed, which was comfortable. Quiet.
Disliked: Smelled of bleach. And there was a very bright light from the "emergency lighting" box on in the room all night, which made sleeping difficult.
