Great value, location, and comfort...
Liked: Everything was great! Comfortable beds & pillows, nice bathrooms, air conditioning, big kitchen with nice balcony seating, even a small gym (not the best but better than nothing!).

Very good
Liked: I really enjoyed my stay at Global Backpackers. The location is perfect — right in the center but still quiet and peaceful. The place is clean and well maintained, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a comfortable and well-organized hostel!
Disliked: The only thing I didn’t like was that the kitchen closes at 10 PM — a bit too early, especially if you work late or have a different schedule.

Liked: The location was perfect for our needs, right in the hub of activity but was surprisingly quiet and peaceful in the room. Equally, there felt a good vibe with the other residents at the Backpackers during our stay
Disliked: We had a private room with bathroom which was excellent - I would have liked a couple of chairs and a table (folding chair and card table would have been sufficient and welcome)

A great few days in...
Liked: We stayed in a double room with ensuite and balcony at the front of the hostel. It was perfect for 5 nights. Room was small but clean and modern. Storage drawers under the bed (some hooks on the wall would've been good as well) Excellent location on the Esplanade. Lovely rooftop communal area with sea view and huge kitchen and fridge. There is a lift. We would definitely stay again when we are back in Cairns.
Disliked: Being at the front of the hostel meant a bit of street noise, especially early in the morning (street sweepers and delivery trucks) but to be expected and just need to be aware.

We enjoyed our stay here!
Liked: The hostel is right on the esplanade so it is very close to loads of shops, restaurants, and the night markets!The room is very clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly. It was perfect for the few days we were in Cairns!
Disliked: Can be loud at night because you are right on the esplanade.

Great location, lovely staff
Liked: I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were comfortable, the location is unbeatable (right by the waterfront!), and the staff were super friendly and helpful — especially the lovely girl at reception whose name I sadly forgot.One night, I had a bit of an issue with a guest who decided to play music loudly in the room around 11pm, then continued blasting it in the shower and corridors like it was a mini rave. He seemed drunk and inconsiderate. Thankfully, I reported it to reception and they were very supportive and handled it really well.Aside from that one guest (which obviously isn’t the hostel’s fault), I had a great experience and would definitely come back!
Disliked: Nothing to complain about
