The Shabby Inn

Liked: The AC worked and the room was clean.. Tv worked and the grass had been cut.
Disliked: The hotel and conference center itself was abandoned, locked, chained and padlocked up. It's fire exit stairs were visibly disintegrating and it looks like it hasn't been in use for several years. Check in was done from what looks like a large 1960s prefabricated building that was messy,disheveled ,and failed to be welcoming. The host was pleasant, when you could find him. The rest of the site, including the filled in and condensed swimming pools, looked like it was waiting for the bulldozers to move in.No kettle etc in the room , fridge was unplugged so no use, For what I was paying I felt I had been conned. I don't think it should be on booking.com as it's currently listed. Don't be misled by the attractive stone sign at the entrance, from there on its at best, shabby.

Liked: It was definitely not was pictured on the google site, it was surrounded by deteriorating buildings , the exterior of the buildings and our room in poor condition. There was only one staff. The room was clean and well prepared. But the area surrounding not good.
Disliked: The surrounding property was very scary

Good, budget option. Be careful...

Liked: The property itself was fine, had a 'camp-slash-Motel 6' feel about it. We were allowed to check in late, despite some hiccups on that part. Everything was "budget, but acceptable for the price". Best part: bakery down the street is INCREDIBLE. Look for the Apple Pie sign.
Disliked: Booking's site had said basically 'write a note if you need to check in later'. I did, mentioning that we wouldn't be arriving until late because our flight didn't land until midnight. No response from motel. Forgot about it, because of traveling chaos. Then while we were on our flight, 10 minutes before the office closed, a man called my call phone and left a message wondering where we were. The second we arrived (12:45), I called back. The man did answer the phone (bonus points for that?), but was quite rude. So, either leave a message on and don't answer, or be ready to answer the phone in the middle of the night as if you're running a business.

Comfy but needs work

Liked: The bed was comfortable, owner seemed friendly even though we could not really communicate.
Disliked: There were literally ants everywhere, there was a huge soft spot on the floor where it felt like you would fall through. There was no breakfast and it was hard to communicate with the owners due to language barrier.
