It was a Southern experience!!
Liked: The history was great. We loved the area. This was an experience. Spendy but knowing the upkeep must be high on the property, we told ourselves that it made our money worth it. Family run. Nice breakfast. Not worth what we were charged.
Disliked: They were unable to take a credit card payment. Only offered Apple Pay or Venmo and couldn’t run them because there was no internet & very limited cell, so we had to use cash. It was our bad, in hindsight we should have just left and moved on. When offered a ghost tour we thought it would be about the city, but it really was just things that happened at the house. We never inquired about the price of the tour. On Booking.com I thought the price was going to be $180ish but paying cash it was $250. She walked off with my credit card and driver's license for over 20 minutes then came back and said they didn't have internet, so Thankfully I had cash. Very cool history narrated and told by Miss Marjory whose family has owned it for generations. It was no frills the beds were comfortable. It was our bad, for not asking for the price of the tour which when having to pay cash was unexpected. We were unable to get a receipt for the cash. Even when requested multiple times - no response. It was an experience. There were no real markings as to the address/ location or where to go once there. We really felt like we had been scammed. a month later we are still wondering how much was true or made up. And after reading other reviews online we see the reviews on Google we heard about some of those reviews from the owner's side. Apparently, there was a of family there, but we never saw them around. We booked a two bedroom then they called to say they had someone else who needed that room, asking if we can share a bed in another room.

A stay like a visit...
Liked: It was totally unlike a hotel experience. More like a visit to a great aunt with an old house with old furniture. It is an experience itself. Marjorie had lots of stories about the house and the community.
Disliked: Old houses take a lot of work, upkeep and cleaning are ongoing.
