Great hotel for a quick...

Liked: Lovely property and easy to get to. Excellent breakfast and very comfortable beds. The reception staff were super friendly and helped with luggage. The staff at breakfast were particularly great considering how busy they were. So friendly.
Disliked: The parking was a bit tricky to navigate.

Liked: The house is in an excellent location and the rooms were great! (Much nicer than in the photos!) We had a lovely full English breakfast and there was a nice selection of foods for breakfast. We were in town for a wedding and getting into the property late at night was no problem at all!

Disappointing stay in the River...

Liked: Good location, few minutes walk to Windermere or Bowness. Good and easy parking. Front desk staff is great and tries best to help
Disliked: A family of four stayed in the River Cottage. A number of things were problematic:1) The design of the cottage itself (this is not clear from the description). For e.g. both the bathrooms are on the ground floor and kitchen is on the first floor. Highly inconvenient 2) The cottage has not been well maintained. For e.g. in the ensuite bathroom, there is water logging after a shower that takes a good 30mins+ to drain. Informed the management but nothing was done during our stay. There are cobwebs inside and outside the windows and they are dirty, cleaning is overdue. This is not the usual things one would expect being in the middle of the Lakes - we have been there many times and stayed in multiple B&Bs across the Lakes region.3) For a self-catering cottage, few basics were missing e.g. no hand wash in wash basins, no kitchen towels. Fine to get all ingredients for cooking (expected as self-catering), but basic kitchen amenities need to be provided4) Beds are very uncomfortable, once can feel the springs on the back. After long walks through the day, it was quite annoyingOverall, not a value for money and not recommended.

nice place, difficult parking but...

Liked: the room was functional and clean but dated.
Disliked: The bathroom light, i couldn't figure out how to turn it off, not necessarily their fault.
