Liked: Location was lovely, building and grounds are very pretty from the outside
Disliked: Man on the front desk, must have caught him on a bad day, far from polite and felt I was an inconvenience when I checked in and out.Rooms are very dated

A good time in Usk

Liked: Excellent food in a very comfortable traditional hotel.

Liked: Breakfast was superb.White linen tablecloths and being waited on by waiters in smart shirt and tie.
Disliked: Lift wasn’t working and we were on top floor at the ages of 78 and 79.

Lovely 1 night stay.

Disliked: Room very hot, and unfortunately the windows were not very large. A fan was provided, but nonetheless quite hot during hot weather.

Beautiful stay

Liked: We had a lovely stay at The Glyn Yr Afon House Hotel – the setting is beautiful, the atmosphere is full of character, and the staff are warm and welcoming. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and high quality, though we’d have preferred a self-serve selection well like choices of jam or butter, when they ran out.A few small improvements could make the experience even better – the pillows weren’t great, in-room supplies were a little low, and a mini fridge would be a nice touch.Overall, it’s a charming hotel in a peaceful location, and we’d happily recommend it for a relaxing getaway.
