Very good

Disliked: After 113 years it is time to change the mattresses, the bed was terrible.

Birthday fun.

Liked: Had so much fun hearing everyone's ghost tales. My daughter took me here for my birthday we were disappointed we didn't bring anything to try to hunt the ghost but we saw other people doing it and it was really fun watching them. We ate at the restaurant at the Glen tavern inn it was amazing food. Later after dinner we took a walk downtown and found a really cool little cider bar with entertainment. The next day we went on the pedal railroad that was so much fun we had a blast doing that then we went to the art museum and that was also fun. We really didn't know what to expect when we booked this trip but Santa Paula was a great little town and Will we will definitely visit this town again.
Disliked: The only disappointment would be that we didn't have any paranormal experience in our room so better luck next time.

Not quaint, just decrepit

Liked: Santa Paula is a pretty town, and the hotel looks lovely from the outside.
Disliked: The first night we were out in a tiny room. We had to put our suitcases on the floor. A tiny shower with the shower curtain partly hanging off the rail. They gave us a new, larger room for the second night, with a big bath/Jacuzzi. So happy until we turned it on and black scum came out and floated on the bath water. The one bedside lamp did not work, and the carpet in the room was dirty.

Delightful step into a bygone...

Liked: Fantastic historical inn. Amazing lobby. Restaurant looked great, couldn't eat there this trip. Wonderful king bed. Spacious shower and bathroom. Delightful staff. Remote control thermostat. (!).
Disliked: Nice to have some sort of snack in the morning. Coffee excellent. I'm ready at 6am.

Expected Better for the Price

Liked: The front staff was very nice.
Disliked: TV wasn't working (front desk helped fix)One lamp wasn't working, fridge wasn't plugged in, towels didn't feel clean. I understand the hotel is very old, but the windows need to be upgraded. Edison started working around 10pm one block over and was still going at 7am... heard chainsaws, the generator, and linemen yelling to each other ALL night.

Special time in a quaint...

Liked: Loved the dinner choices and the meals were delicious. Also having a pianist playing next to our table was a special treat The staff when we checked in were just so personable and helpful.Loved that we could play cards right in front of the fireplace. We sure enjoyed celebrating our 39th Anniversary there.
