Very good

A fun place to stay...

Liked: Hotel was eccentric and fun. It was very beautiful and we loved the old touches like the elevator
Disliked: The rooms were a bit smaller (bathroom right beside the bed) and we could hear water running through pipes all night

Great locations, quality sleep

Liked: Location, style and the bed was super comfy
Disliked: Would have liked a deck in the room even a small one to sit at, a small table and chair.

we booked 2 nights and...

Liked: the lift was cool
Disliked: we booked 2 nights and received a room above the loft above the bar for 500 CAN $ per night. Bothe nights the bar was inaccessible due to Weddings. The noise level was unacceptable. We could not sleep both nights. If we knew in advance we would have never booked this place, especially for that price. We felt unwelcome.

Passable

Liked: Great bar and resto. Very happening location. Lots of bars, pubs, little restaurants, shops.
Disliked: Charming hôtel that over the past 135 years has absorbed too much cigarette smoke. The tabacco smell was overwhelming. Rooms on the western south side are noisy. You hear the trams and via rail train trafic throughout the night.

Good choice for a hotel...

Liked: Good breakfast but I prefer buffet.
Disliked: The room was too little.

Experience does not match the...

Liked: Great design and art display!
Disliked: The AC was terribly noisy, both in the corridor and in the bedroom. And on top of this the noise from the street was also terribly high which made it very difficult to sleep well. I appreciate we speak about an heritage building but you should look into having double-glazed sash windows or if you want to keep the original ones then add another window in the room to block the sound.
