Gingerbread Manor is a cozy, historic bed and breakfast located in downtown Montreal, just a short walk from major music venues and cultural hotspots. Housed in a beautifully preserved 19th-century building, this 3-star B&B blends old-world charm with modern comforts like free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, and freshly prepared breakfast options. Whether you're in town for a show or soaking in the city’s artsy vibe, this spot delivers a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Location is everything—Gingerbread Manor is within walking distance of top venues like Place des Arts and the Museum of Contemporary Art. You’re also just a 10-minute walk from Berri Uqam Metro Station, making late-night transport a breeze. The quiet residential street offers a more peaceful retreat after a high-energy night out, and with check-in starting at 3:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM, you’ll have a comfortable window to unwind.
Breakfast is a highlight here, with continental, vegetarian, and vegan options available—perfect for recharging after a late night. While there’s no on-site restaurant or bar, the neighborhood is filled with cafes, diners, and eateries within walking distance. Several late-night spots are nearby for a quick bite post-concert.
Though Gingerbread Manor doesn’t offer on-site nightlife, you’re just blocks from Montreal’s bustling entertainment scene. From cozy lounges to live music bars and dance clubs, it’s all within easy reach. Afterward, return to your quiet room for a restful night.
Guests consistently praise the friendly hosts, beautiful historic decor, and clean, comfortable rooms. Many mention the convenient location for exploring downtown Montreal and attending events. The breakfast gets rave reviews, especially for its variety and quality.
Some guests note that room sizes can be on the smaller side, and since it’s an older building, sound insulation isn’t perfect. However, most find the charm and location far outweigh these minor quirks.
A charming, affordable B&B that places you steps from Montreal’s top concert venues—Gingerbread Manor is a quiet, character-filled stay for music lovers.

Liked: I loved the breakfasts that the hosts made and served. They were very friendly people and offered flexible drop-off for luggage before and after check-in and check-out times. The house was beautifully decorated and the room was very comfortable and cozy. It was easy to get to multiple places around the city from there, by walking or bus.

The breakfasts were underwhelming.
Liked: The breakfast was pretty simple and a bit disappointing. The rooms were very hot and they were unable to fix this problem We opened the window and that helped a bit.
Disliked: Too hot!

Quiet, cozy and convientient.
Liked: A lot of things were excellent! Overall, I'd say the people who run Gingerbread were fantastically accommodating. Not only did they make you fresh breakfast in the morning, but they provided some wonderful company throughout the day and could answer any questions. Metro cards were available to use, unlimited hot chocolate and various teas were also available at all times should a craving spark. The facilities were very clean, especially considering the bathrooms on each floor were shared between a few units. The charm of the manor is in how European it feels, since the interior looks old fashioned, which was so charming. The location is excellent being just off a main road if you need to drive, or the metro was a five minute walk away, or there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We would 100% stay here again!
Disliked: No issues, it served our needs perfectly.

Charming and comfortable!
Liked: The place was charming, the breakfast was delicious and very complete, and the location is spectacular. I took the bus into town from Vermont and was able to walk easily from the bus terminal. The neighborhood is fabulous and filled with tons of restaurants and cute parks around.
Disliked: Honestly don't have any complaints, they seem to know what they are doing!

Liked: Loved my stay at Gingerbread Manor! The hosts were interesting to talk to, breakfast was delicious and different every day (loved the Shakshuka!), and I also really liked my room (Carlton). It's small, but it has a very nice little balcony and a great mattress. On top of that, the house is in a very nice part of the city and in easy walking distance to the bus station. Would go back any time!
