Staff were very friendly and happy to help. The hotel is in a good situation, close to the station and Hull City Hall.

Liked: Good clean room at a great price.

Liked: The hotel seems to house all the local drug addicts and local wasters..... basically if you stink of piss and have nine teeth missing then you can stay at the Gilson for free whilst i had to pay £100 for the pleasure. I think Bob Marley lives in the basement, absolutely stinks of weed.

Good when in room but...

Disliked: The staff almost refused my stay due to my ID being refused, I was travelling with my teenage daughter who was distraught.

No frills but friendly hotel

Liked: Great location, easy walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants and marina. The staff at reception are extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed two nights in two different rooms. The second room was spacious and clean.
Disliked: The first room we stayed in needed freshening up. The second room was roasting! We had the AC on and the fan and we still couldn’t sleep with the heat!

Liked: All other guests were migrants. Smell of weed in corridor on 2 occasionsCheap but not cheerful
