GILPIN LAKE HOUSE Just over a mile away from Gilpin Hotel within 100 acres of breathtaking grounds and located on the bank of Knipe Tarn Gilpin Lake House is a true sanctuary far away from the crowds but just a stone's throw from the breath-taking lakes and fells. With a lounge shared swimming pool and hot tub and spa treatment rooms it has the feel of a country house with all the services of a hotel. A wonderful birthday treat.

Liked: The food at both restaurants was excellent.
Disliked: There was a discretionary charge for staff, including grounds staff on the final bill. Breakfast was not included "because we had booked via Booking.com!"

Staff were very friendly! Lovely...

Liked: From staff to room, everything about this place was fantastic!
Disliked: Thought SOUCE would have been better, dishes tasted lovely, presentation was on point, staff were friendly, but maybe because I’m restaurateur I see the little bits. All in all I’d give it 6.8/10

The most incredible stay

Liked: The staff went over and beyond for us. They made the whole trip personal. Food was incredible and all fresh and locally sourced.
Disliked: Nothing!
