Very friendly place, nice room,...

Liked: We recently spent 4 nights here in the deluxe double room. The room is a little small, but is clean and has everything you need. James, Sarah and their daughter (sorry, I've forgotten your name!) are very welcoming and cook an awesome fried breakfast. The large bar makes a nice place to have a nightcap before retiring. If you're lucky you may even get to join in the fun quiz night. It's a bit outside of town, but this means you get somewhere to park and there are plenty of buses.
Disliked: Nothing

Tired room but good breakfast

Liked: Reasonably close to Durham City centre. A superb full English breakfast freshly cooked and really lovely staff.
Disliked: The downstairs twin room window looked onto a very busy main road and I felt I couldn't leave the window open at night, so very hot and airless. The bathroom floor was badly stained lino and looked dirty, though when I checked it was actually clean. The fixtures and fittings were very tired and I had to do an emergency repair to one of the twin beds because the leg was coming out of it's joint to the frame

Liked: Though we needed to leave very early we were provided with takeaway breakfast. Room was cosy and clean.
Disliked: Door in the toilet was difficult to lock, the floor there was very creaky.
