Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast.
Disliked: Room was very dusty and had cobwebs. The bed had a mattress on top of another mattress which was very uncomfortable and felt unsafe! The toilet seat was broken as was the toilet roll holder.

Superb
Liked: Beautiful listed Georgian Building lots of original features and architecture... expect an older building with older furniture and unlevel floors, all part of its charm. Absolutely Beautiful furnishings in guest shared spaces felt like a film set. Callum member of check in staff was very accommodating and friendly. Hot weather so I requested a fan in room and was delivered one straight away. Extremely comfortable large four poster bed we stayed in room 16 with original wood shutters on the windows. Decent sized smart TV in room. We stayed with our dog for £15 extra. Lovely pub attached and genuine Italian style pizza place with wood fired oven. Nice beer garden and great location, good sized free carpark.
Disliked: Room could have done with a small bed side shelf on window side, an extension as we struggled for plug sockets available and needs a towel rail putting up in the new lovely decorated but small bathroom. All small things that could be easily done. We would come again as it's such a lovely friendly place

Possibly the worst hotel we've...
Liked: Not much. :-(
Disliked: There is a function room which was DIRECTLY outside our window, which was hosting a 50th birthday party when we stayed. The noise started at 19:00 and went on past midnight. The only good aspect was that we were attending an event elsewhere and got back around 23:00, so we didn't have to listen to it all night. In the bathroom, someone's whiskers were in the sink. There was a warning notice about not flushing sanitary products and condoms(!!) down the toilet and use the bin provided. The only bin was in the living area, so would not be ideal if guests needed to heed the warning. The room had a musty smell (probably due to all the wood within the room), but there was dust everywhere. We found a dead moth in the single bed. The kettle was disgusting so we didn't even make a coffee or tea. The furniture was old and shabby with a door fallen off the bedside cupboard. We were attracted to this hotel because of the quirky four-poster beds - in hindsight it was a bit of a mistake.

Quirky property with great food...
Liked: Breakfast was superb and really well presented. Lovely home cooked. The bathroom was exceptionally good. New fittings and sanitary warehouse. Superbly decorated and spotless.
Disliked: Check in took a while as the member of staff disappeared without explaining he was sorting out another client. It took over 20 minutes to come back. The bedroom was tired and in need of redecorating and a deep clean.
