Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast.
Disliked: Room was very dusty and had cobwebs. The bed had a mattress on top of another mattress which was very uncomfortable and felt unsafe! The toilet seat was broken as was the toilet roll holder.

Good Value For Money

Liked: Good location with free parking as within easy walking distance of city centre, good value for one night, friendly staff, with good breakfast the next morning.
Disliked: Old building which could do with some work doing to it, shower was poor, found some left over pet treats on the floor in the wardrobe.

Liked: I always stay here if I’m in Derby. Quirky, old,well located, friendly, nice unpretentious bar downstairs, parking - and cheap. If you like a sanitised, bland, uniform and antiseptic chain hotel, this might not be for you. But I love it. Dog friendly too.
Disliked: Nothing

Fabulous food, central position, lovely...

Liked: Fabulous food. Nice, friendly staff. 250 year old building with lots of original features and stunning furniture.
Disliked: As it's an old building there is wear and tear but this doesn't affect your stay. It's a great, central place to get into Derby.

Liked: we always stay here when in Derby and feel very comfortable,Always been very clean and well maintained.Good rapport in bar and restaurant.reception always well mannered and polite.
Disliked: the carpet in the room number 8 was badly stained and dirty, i had the feeling that someone had forgotten to clean it, very unusual here.room was tiny.We have stayed here numerous times and been completely satisfied.No bath this time, May be our own fault for not checking the details
