George Oxford Hotel

Absolutely dreadful. One step down from a run down youth hostel. Rooms dirty and small. Breakfast basic and delivered to room as there is no dining area. All in all - terrible.

Awful - would never recommend

Liked: The property is in the city centre so it is good location.
Disliked: - lots of mould - smelt like sewage- only 1 towel and a broken fan- carpet was very dirty - very damaged decor - poor conditions all round Overall I would never stay there again and it looks NOTHING like the photos. Only had a 5 min chat with the staff on arrival, they were nice. But the room and the facilities were shocking.

Underwhelming & expensive for what...

Liked: Location where I needed it, lots of restaurants around hotel.
Disliked: Small rooms, bed uncomfortable, no way to cool room down, no lift and alot of flights of stairs, no food available in hotel, no plug point near bed, wardrobe door didn't close completely & wardrobe is jammed so close to the bed I was worried it would fall on me.

Great Location, Good Value, Comfortable

Liked: A great location, close to the railway station, all the tourist sights of Oxford, and also very close to a wide range of restaurants, pubs, cafes, etc. The room was exactly as advertised, comfortable beds and hot showers. Clean towels, linen and tea-making was appreciated. The room was fairly spacious and had all the facilities you'd expect. Check-in was easy and quick.
Disliked: Access to the second floor (where my room was) was only by stairs, but I did know this in advance. As it was on a main road and close to the New Theatre and pubs, it got noisy at night and early in the morning, but as it was summer I had the windows open (which was nice) and that let the noise in.
