Would advise against staying here

Liked: Great location for walking the wallWater pressure in shower was good
Disliked: Room looked incredibly tiredBed uncomfortableRandom holes in most walls and wires exposedNo pool or leisure facilities although these are advertisedBreakfast not good, so glad we did not eat here for dinner Way too expensive for what we got, I would expect more from a budget hotel which this was not

Liked: Nice quiet area lots of room in the beer garden which overlooks the river. Room was clean and tidy

A good place if you...

Liked: Very nice beer garden near by the river Tyne. Ideal if you walk the HWP. Very good beers and a very friendly and helpful barman.
Disliked: I could not open the window in the room.

Disliked: Mattress uncomfortable hopefully changed by now Would have been nice to have summer weight duvet Had to walk outside from room to get into restaurant ( maybe I just didn't find adjoining door ) not so good if raining

Convenience after a long day’s...

Liked: The location, gardens and overall ambience.
Disliked: Poor condition of room - decor is poor. Restaurant and bar area needs refreshing and better fish and chips quality. Cod in Sycamore Beer batter could be better.

Disappointing stay, fabulous location but...

Liked: Perfect location for our walk along Hadrians wall.
Disliked: Very dated property. Some front of house staff very rude. Room clean but old and shower poor. The estate itself is in decline. A gold mine, location-wise, but they’ve obviously stopped trying. Poor value.
