Liked: Room clean and tidy. Staff really friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast.

Not recommended until it is...

Liked: The pub with rooms above it is in the centre of Frome. The dining area was comfortable and the service and food were fine.
Disliked: After a very long journey, I was very disappointed to arrive in the shabby, cramped room with a bathroom I could barely turn around in. The entrance hallways have carpets that look like they haven't been changed since the 80's. There is chipped paintwork and crumbling walls in the hallways as well as unsightly damaged walls in the bedroom I stayed in. There was no aircon (except a standard fan) or ironing boards in the rooms. The size of my bathroom was comparable to the width of a shower pan and a sink size typically found in a caravan. The bed wasn't comfortable. The photos speak for themselves. Although I was told the building on entry was 400 years old it appears the decoration in the accommodation is feeling that way too. There is no excuse for not doing basic decorating, patching up walls and painting small rooms. At £160 for two nights this wasn't cheap accommodation either. Although the staff were pleasant this doesn't compensate for substandard accommodation.

Disliked: Bed was very uncomfortable, toilet hadn't been cleaned properly, could do with a little tlc & paint especially in room 3

Building frontage charming, back and...

Liked: Attractive building in the centre of town. Great beer.
Disliked: Door codes were tricky to use

Perfect Location

Liked: The staff were very busy but very friendly and helpfull and allways had a smile . The room was big very clean the bed and pillows were lovely and comfy . The bathroom was a good size also . The room also had a balcony which was lovely to sit out there in the morning with a nice cup of tea . Hotel has a car park which is a bonus but will get full. The hotel was in the perfect location for frome. Really lovely stay.
