Lovely traditional inn situated in...

Liked: We were well fed by the kitchen at dinner and breakfast. We slept like logs at night in a lovely quiet bedroom. We were served excellent beers by lovely staff.
Disliked: It was all perfect.

Liked: Number one and above all it was the people. The staff were all excellent attentive and who they asked you if everything was ok they really meant it. The food was freshly prepared and loss of it Never had to wait for anything they were on the ball and well organised even on Saturday when they were full
Disliked: Nothing

Exceptional

Pleasant stay as expected

Liked: Room as expected, good size especially with our dog. Quick check in. Breakfast was good with polite staff. Plenty of parking on the street even though the car park was full. Evening food was ok in the pub.
Disliked: Room a bit tired but building itself is old so partly expected. Shower thermostat not working properly so shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold- we didn’t report this as only stayed the night and noticed in the morning. Staff pleasant when we got there, but I did try to book a table beforehand and the lady who answered was VERY abrupt in telling me there were no tables available Saturday night. I didn’t even get chance to mention we had a room booked before the conversation was over. My husband rang a little later and advised we were stopping and could we book a table which was politely booked. I was just disappointed in my initial conversation which set my expectations beforehand, however staff were friendly once we got there- particularly the staff serving breakfast. Ok price for the room but a tad expensive I think on reflection of the condition of the room, although it was a good size.

Liked: Our stay was brilliant from booking, accommodating us as cyclists, both dinner and breakfast were top quality bit most of all the attentive and friendly staff.
