Disliked: I couldn't sleep because of a disco in the hotel and there was no TV or radio so now entertainment

The General Roberts Hotel is...

Liked: I booked the room in a bit of a hurry and in some rather trying personal circumstances. The rooms have been recently renovated and unfortunately, the smell of the carpet was a little stronger than anticipated. John Hunter Hospital is within a 5 minute drive. There are cafes, a pharmacy and a supermarket within a few blocks of the hotel, so it is very conveniently located. The meals in the hotel downstairs were generous, tasty and well priced.
Disliked: The lights in the female bathroom weren't working at the time - which was fine - but the lad who came upstairs to try and have the problem addressed was talking to someone (presumably management) on speakerphone at 10:30 at night while I was trying to sleep. When I advised him I was trying to sleep, he quietened down, but it was a little annoying that I had to ask him to be quiet.
