A place to relax with...

Liked: This is my second stay at The General Palmer. I was riding the train this time. This hotel is close to the train station, making it the perfect place to stay. A real perk is being able to park in the lot if you have a reservation. It is a real time saver. The General Palmer continues to be my favorite hotel in Durango. I hope to visit often. This time I had an inside room. It was wonderful. Large, yet cozy, clean, comfortable with elegant furnishings, with real coffee cups. I am in my sixties, and so enjoy the classic elegance. The staff are on top of everything and went out of their way to welcome me and help with my bags at my late arrival back from the train. My room had a split heater/cooler which made it easy to keep the room comfortable.
Disliked: I really cannot think of anything. The General Palmer exceeds my expecations.

Liked: Historic , perfect location, Great Parking, fabulous decor/Old but a perfect experience. Staff are so nice. Beds are soooooo comfortable - best on our road trip. Fantastic balcony to watch the sunset.
