A lovely weekend getaway with...

Liked: The grounds had plenty of places to sit and relax with pretty greenery around the property and deer to watch. The breakfast was delicious and staff were friendly.
Disliked: In need to some repairs/updates, mostly on the outside.

All in all I don’t...

Liked: Lovely dining room , antiques, lovely porches with rocking chairs. I didn’t walk in the English garden but it was nice to have the greenery. The manager was very informative about the history of the property and was very personable
Disliked: Unfortunately the breakfasts were sub par There were issues with the tv and the manager had to reprogram after I requested help

Disliked: 38 steps to the 3rd floor room

Beautiful place, pricey, but worth...

Liked: Breakfast was phenomenal, room was beautiful, extremely clean and comfortable
Disliked: AC unit in the room was malfunctioning, it was a little too warm. It was also hard to find an employee to speak with.

We plan to stay again!

Liked: We enjoyed the breakfast, the rooms were very nice and the Blackhawk suite was spacious. We enjoyed the hot tub, and used it one of the nights. The home was walking distance to Mainstreet shopping and restaurants.
Disliked: The only complaint was no fault of Galena Inn, which was the number of steps getting from the inn down to Main Street shopping and back up. It was fine for my wife and I but our mother would have struggled to climb those steps so we drove down and had a hard time finding parking.

Exceptional

Very disappointed.

Liked: The bed was Ok
Disliked: A shabby unkempt environment. Breakfast was supermarket bread and fruit only with the offer of 'veggie quiche'. See pictures below. Coffee machines not filled/functional. Gourmet? No in room drink making facilities, a shared area on the landing. An extremely noisy 'aircon' contraption located in an open window. Bathroom is basic and well worn.Location at the top of a hill overlooking the town. 161 steps to negotiate there and back Picture below. No lift in the hotel. No staff available on arrival (we had to call our America friend who called the hotel and after a couple of tries, manged to contact the 'host'). We were unable to raise assistance at 5pm on our second day, when we had an issue with flying insects in our room. Extremely expensive, $450 for 2 nights given the meagre services on offer. It should be made clear in the description that the location is not accessible for those with even mild mobility issues.

Couples weekend

Liked: Unique and charming. The location was good, easy to get down to Main Street. Comfy bed.
Disliked: Although getting down to Main Street was easy, going back up was a little tougher. It was not a big deal though and certainly would not keep me from staying here again.
