Great value apartments in a...
Liked: UBC Gage apartments are really beautiful and well appointed. Each apartment can sleep 4 people and there is a full kitchen in each suite. The campus is beautiful and full of beautiful places to walk and hang out. The 99 B line bus leaves every few minutes and fast tracks you to Granville or Cambridge where you can take a fast transfer to downtown. It is great value for money and perfect for families, independent travellers or people who have business or research to do at the university.
Disliked: It's wonderful but I wouldn't recommend it if your goal is to enjoy Vancouver nightlife or spend a lot of time downtown.

Very impressed with our stay...
Liked: The room we had was spotless and much larger then expected. We had a full kitchen and large fridge The location for our appointment at the UBC hospital was fantastic. Only a 15 min walk. We were able to leave our truck at Gage apartments so we didn?t need to pay for parking again at our appointment.

Room good, front staff brutal!
Liked: The accommodations were clean and it was comfortable.
Disliked: The lack of signage for checking in. It only shows 6002 and not 5959 so it is just stupid that something so simple to post is not done. The front desk is a hike and confusing. The front staff (blonde girl) was not good. I booked by telephone for Sunday May 9 and to check out on Tuesday, May 11th. I then called directly to ensure I could get a late checkout of 12:30 as my meeting was at 1 pm. At the time of check in I confirmed with front desk staff (brunette girl) of my late checkout of 12:30. Cool ok all done. Ummm, nope! Grrr....I went to take a load of my luggage to my vehicle at 11:05 and when I did the hike back to my room I was locked out. NOT COOL! I then had to hike back to the building where the front desk was to ask for access to my room. The blonde was slow and not the friendliest person to deal with. I stood there (felt like forever) to get yet another key to get back into my room and finish getting ready for my meeting. I DID NOT need this when I was in a hurry and heading into an extremely important meeting. The front desk staff need some schooling in how to ensure when a customer books and confirms late check out that she doesn't have to waste her time walking everywhere because she's locked out. I was so unimpressed with this and it should NOT EVER have happened. Get your crap together so no one else has to endure this hassle.
