Furzedown Hotel

I would stay again, because...

Liked: Choice for breakfast was good. Service was friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Our room was small, but adequate for two to share. Bathroom was fine and shower was really good. Dinner was lovely.
Disliked: Room was a little noisy early in the morning. Not sure there is anything that can be done about that. The road to the car park is gravel, the storage area is just at the end of that and our room over looked that are. There was some sort of cooling fans or air con units that were running quite often, so a little noisy and the entrance to the kitchen was just under us, so again it could be noisy. Having said this, it was only briefly on each occasion and maybe if I wasn't a light sleeper I would not have noticed so much.

What we needed

Liked: Staff were friendly and bar was fantastic prices. Lovely sea view from the room overlooking the sea front. Breakfast was fantastic with so much choice and cooked fresh. Staff at breakfast were equally friendly.
Disliked: The parking situation could be greater explained and maybe organised. We managed to get a spot as we checked in slightly early but then had to pop out in the day and by the time we got back in the evening the car park was completely full and we had to park out on the street for a fee. I am not convinced that the hotel car park was being used by just hotel guests as your number plate isn't checked or anything.

Liked: Food and staff excellent. Location very good.
Disliked: The only thing that would improve this hotel would be a lift. But being an old building probably not possible to install one.

Disliked: Needs new mattress in twin room, springs poked through. Very hot and stuffy.

Liked: The location was lovely on the sea front.the staff where nice ,polite the breakfast was good.the room was clean.
Disliked: pillows where uncomfortable,we only stayed one night the room we had was at the back of the hotel. if we was staying for a while I would have been disappointed with the roombut for one night it was fine.

Liked: On the seafront and my single room, although small, was excellent value. Loved the restaurant and my blue cheese, pear and walnut salad.
Disliked: The hotel says it has WiFi but it doesn’t. Couldn’t connect at all and even the phone signal was so poor I could not connect t using my mobile data. Ended up going down the road to a pub so I could get online.TV in room was only tuned to a few channels. I think it needed retuning.
