Hip downtown spot close to...
Liked: Awesome vibe to the whole place - you are right in the downtown scene and can get around on foot easily. There's always some sort of cool art or movie thing happening.
Disliked: The elevators can be slow and not all working.

Great value, stylish hostel
Liked: The price for such a location was fantastic. The immediate area has lots of trendy restaurants and bars, it feels up and coming, and the hotel lobby is beautiful. I stayed in a shared 8 bed room. As expected it was a bit loud and bright (i was on the 13th floor, directly by the bar), but if you bring noise cancelling headphones and eyemask you'll sleep like a dream. Bring a lock for the locker - but you can buy one for $8 from the front desk. There's a basic breakfast (OJ, muffin, toast) and small gym with weights and a crosstrainer which was great. Stored my luggage after check out.
I used the pool both mornings, wow how fantastic and relaxing! I am coming back to LA in a month and have moved from an airbnb to this location for some chill pool time.
Disliked: Elevators were a pain! Small and slow. The staff were a little cold and I wasn't given a lot of information on check in - a little brochure especially for hostel room guests would be a good idea explaining the principles. There were no basic toiletries included in the room (I had read reviews and brought my own) but installing an ecofriendly 2 in one soap/shampoo dispenser in the shower would be so simple and there would be no waste of tiny

Co-Ed rooms - good location...
Liked: The location was very convenient - I was attending the Tony Robbin's event at the Convention center and it was an easy 15 min walk. The bar downstairs had a nice vibe to it. Price was reasonable.
Disliked: The Co-Ed rooms have no privacy, your beds are attache to other bunk beds and you are staring at other people, and if they have lights on or are loud there is no escaping it. The bedding was a sheet and a very light blanket and no wash cloth provided or soap for the shower, shampoo, etc. The event I attended was late into the night and fairly early mornings so I just needed a bed to sleep on, so it worked well for that purpose, but if you have any plans of comfort or hanging out other than in your bed, there is no common area or kitchen. There was a couch in the corner but it was awkward as it was in the corner by peoples beds. There was 2 bathrooms, and you could hear everything, and one of the showers was like a water fountain as far as pressure. Basically a crash pad, and a place to reminisce your college days in the dorm. Plenty of restaurants and bars near by.

Liked: Free drink coffee and tea. Keeping baggage-after checking out.
Disliked: Noisy because of the room nearing Landry and old building.

Liked: The rooms were comfortable and clean.
Disliked: The elevator was a little confusing to use. Figured out how after watching others.
