disappointed

Liked: location , ambiance, quiet .
Disliked: felt after communicating with staff there seemed to not understand our request, it was very disappointing to be told we needed to leave the spa area at 11 when i had booked a year ago i requestedto use the facilities the next day and was told it would be ok but clearly was not ok as we only had till 11am , this was meant to be a relaxing break for us and it wasn’t, actually felt disappointed and upset. just felt the communication between staff & myself was not good enough.

Liked: Location
Disliked: Very run down, no air conditioning in both bed rooms, dripping tap in bathroom, disappointing breakfast. Dirty towels in bathroom & problems with toilet flushing. It was like a comedy of errors.

Liked: The room was ok and had air conditioning which was welcomed as it was a really hot day.The staff were really pleasant and helpful and couldn't do enough for you.
Disliked: There was no fridge in the room which would have been nice and no full length mirrorThe air con in the fitness centre wasn't working

Great

Liked: Comfy beds. Close to town.
Disliked: Breakfast was good, staff were lovely but service was a bit chaotic. We asked for scrambled tofu (from the menu) and no egg. It came with scrambled egg. They did sort it out though.

Liked: Matress was comfy
Disliked: Our Key fitted every guest room along the corridor and theirs to our door. Husband has video evidence. It was only by chance this was discovered when a family member in another room accidentally picked up the wrong keys and discovered the wrong key opened the door. We tried other rooms along corridor and it opened all doors.Massive safety concern that guests were able to get in and out each others rooms as all locks the same! Imagine if kids were on their own and a stranger was able to access their room! Also for peoples property that could easily be stolen. Everywhere was very worn and dated. Stained and dirty. Poorly cleaned. Bathroom facilities dated and dirty. Carpets rippled, ripped and freyed and a trip hazard.Spoke to manager about serious concerns and he just said he will mention to his manager when he was back in two days time. Not good enough for the safety of guests. They were well aware that all the keys were the same as well and said they were “in the processOf getting them changed” but it was obvious the locks had been like this for someTime as they were all old.

Superb

Liked: The staff, especially lovely Jess at front desk (she’s a brilliant ambassador for Fredrick’s - efficient, helpful, really friendly and knowledgable) and the charming spa manager
Disliked: Fixtures and fittings a little dated

Relaxing and good value

Liked: the staff were really lovely and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was really nice too! Clean and outdoor pool was lovely in the sun. Would be nice to have some music whilst relaxing outside that’d make it perfect
Disliked: One faulty spa facility (the bath you put your feet in) but all in working order other than that

Pleasant

Liked: The staff was really nice and helpful, the food was really amazing and the bed super comfy.
Disliked: I think this hotel needs a huge refit because it has a good potential to be a wonderful location.
