The location is great - close to shopping, theaters, and great restaurants. It's a beautiful hotel and the staff could not be more friendly. I would recommend you go to one of the surrounding restaurants for a nice dinner rather than the one in the hotel but, other than that, this is a great place to stay while in Charleston.

Liked: It's beautiful and the view from our room was perfect.
Disliked: The restaurant food at the Swamp Fox was so so, but the waitress was great. The bathroom is really tiny, but it's an old hotel and I would rather they kept close to the old decor than wreck the rooms by modernizing them.

Great location for walking King Street shops. Great having a Starbucks in the building. Parking was convenient ( Charleston Parking Garage ) and was easy to locate.

Liked: Small but a very nice, clean, updated room. Helpful staff.

Overall, we had a wonderful...

Liked: The hospitality was wonderful. The Swamp Fox restaurant dinning experience was wonderful. We loved Silvia!!! The overall appeal and design of the hotel was beautiful. The location was perfect for our walking to historic sights. Valet parking was better than looking for a park on the streets.
Disliked: I was really disappointed in the size of the room for accommodating 3 persons. The bathroom was immensely way too small, no room for movement, no counter space, very tight, definitely couldn't handle two persons at a time. Movement was limited. A micro wave would have been good to have. We made the best of it.

Liked: You can definitely tell when walking in it?s from the 1920. Well kept and maintianed
Disliked: Hotel room carpet was stained, loud A/C, bathroom mildew on shower tile grout, and rusty screws.

Liked: Hotel and common area is beautiful and the quality of the furniture in the rooms is nice. We were on the 11th floor which had an amazing view! Vnice staff & strict covid protocols in place. Also located next to the FreeBus. Concierge was Vnice & helpful.
Disliked: I guess because of the price you negotiated we had the smallest room in the house. We saw other rooms on our floor and are certain of it. Fortunately we did not spend much time in the room.

The location made up for...

Liked: Staff friendly and accomadating. We asked for a room change due to musty older room and staff quit to assist. Bell captains good but understaffed at peak hours.
Disliked: Bathroom has no ventilation, needs renovations. Tile cracked and caulking poorly, furniture needs to be refreshed. Bed comfortable.
