Being in the town was...

Liked: I liked the place being in the centre of the town
Disliked: Better if I could have had breakfast too.The small heater did not work and the shelf in the bathroom was tilted and not usable.

Pleasant

Liked: Central to the town.
Disliked: The noise from the music below. The lights in the bedroom wasn't bright enough to read in bed. No room around the bed to place a drink of water other than the floor. Small car park at the side had spaces but was told we couldn't park there. Had to walk a good ten minutes to park the car for the weekend.

Exceptional

Liked: The first impression is one of the most important things when meeting someone or someplace new.I went into the place and was immediately spoken to by a member of staff who was polite, friendly and helpful.I was shown the rooms and they gave me the keys, we were able to find a place to park just outside ( luckily as there is no onsite parking)We got comfortable and went down to the restaurant and ordered our evening meal and was not disappointed with what we were served. The bar staff were friendly as well. The beds were lovely and comfy and tea and coffee plus biscuits were available in the rooms, also kettle, milk and sugar and mugs.
Disliked: No on-site parking, don't serve breakfast but we found a cafe near by and ate there so not really a problem.

Didn’t think it was value...

Liked: Staff were lovely, room and bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable. Kettle, tea and coffee provided.
Disliked: The room was freezing, the radiator didn’t come on and the second night I had to ask to have the heating on. It came on briefly and took the chill off the room but it was by no means comfortably warm. The kettle/cup/tea/coffee etc was on a stand by the door where there was nowhere to plug the kettle in, had to plug it in across the other side of the room next to the bed. There was no mirror in the bedroom, only one in the bathroom but the light on it didn’t work and the bathroom light was very dim. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the shower cubicle was so small my face was just about up against the half moon sliding door when I had my back to the shower to wash my hair. There were some coat hangers and a rail but they were directly above the tea tray and not very high so couldn’t actually hang anything there, and there were no drawers. I was particularly concerned about the back gate and door into the property (entrance to rooms) being left unlocked 24 hours a day. No security and anyone could enter at any time without question. There is a few parking spaces at the pub but I was told I couldn’t leave my car there during my stay, I had to park in a public car park a five minute walk away; the spaces are for visitors to the pub and not for people staying there which is ridiculous, in the 3 nights I was staying, there were 2 cars there briefly on one day using the electric charging point, the rest of the time including the evenings the pub car park was empty. Finally, yes I paid for a single room, but it was a very small room, really cold even after the heating had been on and I thought the price I paid was quite high for the accommodation I received.

Quiet room but don't order...

Liked: Location was on my route. Quiet room.
Disliked: Shower was in same room as the bed. Condensation was on all the walls. Pizza cooked in their kitchen.
