I wouldn't have booked 4...
Liked: Rooms were nice and clean, pool area was nice
Disliked: Not a whole lot of options for food. Staff worked hard but were not real professional. Menu advertised Prime Rib but didn't have it, would of went somewhere else if would've known. No steakhouse. Ice cream place wasn't open as advertised. Staff was mowing course on Saturday, busiest day of the week. Mower person picked up my golf ball. Greens were in bad shape. Sprinklers were going Sunday morning 2 hours before rain. Couldn't golf.

Tradition 1990’s style resort feel...
Liked: Location, nice staff, lots to do, amenities
Disliked: No egg, breakfast meat, or potatoes for breakfast. Just microwave breakfast sandwiches, small juices in fridge. They did have great waffles though!

We were pleasantly surprise how...
Liked: the breakfast was a nice bonus. coffee and a bagel before we began our day was great. the maintence people let us wash our utv off when we got back and enjoyed the battle of the bands. Rachel greeted us on arrival was very energetic and very helpful. actually all the staff was awesome!!!! we will be back to visit again. the fish fry on Friday was delicious.
Disliked: the service in the bar area was lacking service. unorganized would be a good word to use, which is too bad so much history and a beautiful place.

Beautiful Property
Liked: The property is unique and historic. The room was nice and clean. We look forward to coming back sometime when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy kayaking and being outside. The property is very nice. The breakfast was fine if you can bring your own proteins and can have gluten. I'm sure during peak season when you can go to the restaurant on-site, it wouldn't matter.
Disliked: The primary disappointment was that the hot tub was turned off while we were there. We have a dear relative with terminal cancer who is dealing with a lot of end-of-life pain. My aunt only chose this hotel because it was the only property that had a hot tub within a reasonable drive of our family reunion out in the sticks. The hot tub was the only option we had to help ease his pain away from their home hot tub. It was rough for him and took a lot of joy out of what may be our family's last time to see him alive. We made the mistake of asking IF they have a hot tub, not asking if it was currently operable. The ceiling was in disrepair and looked to be leaking badly, so it appears there was some sort of terrible weather that damaged the pool area roof that they may not have had time to repair yet. It was just bad timing. Our stay overall was great and I would definitely return with just my immediate family. The hot tub thing was just unfortunate.

Mixed review, they could provide...
Liked: We loved the ambiance, and the beauty of the classic structure dated from the early 1900's. Truly a gem of a location, but there was a concerning problem, no food.
Disliked: The restaurants were closed except for the bar & grill. Since there was an event in another location, the kitchen was not providing food to the bar & grill. The wait for food was so long, and there was a snowstorm outside so we couldn't even venture out to get dinner. It would have been a very dangerous ride to any local restaurant. Had we been more aware of the situation, we would have brought snacks into our room and taken care of ourselves.
