Exceptional

Wouldn’t recommend for a one...

Liked: The location as beautiful and it had a lift. The bed was comfortable but small for 2 people.
Disliked: We booked expecting an assigned car park only to find out it was take your chances at finding one on the street. The booking included breakfast which was documented as starting at 7:30 however the door was locked and unavailable before 8am which meant we couldn’t have our breakfast as we had to be on the road by 7:45 am for our next activity. Whist the room was clean it was very old and fixtures and fittings coming away from the wall, the handrail on the bathroom wasn’t secure and the toilet on a lean, there were places on the floor where you could feel it dipping underneath you. Whilst the TV had a good selection of channels and good reception it was very small for the room compared to other places we have stayed at. You’re not allowed to order food in and eat in your room. This was not noted anywhere but in our room in a folder where it warned you there would be a charge for bringing food in nor were we advised at the front desk on checking in. Would not rate as a 3 star hotel.

Excellent breakfast, nice staff, great...

Liked: Breakfast was excellent. Room clean with a lovely sea view. On arrival staff juggled cars to give us a parking space.
Disliked: The bar area is not inviting and as such we didn’t see many people drinking there. We went elsewhere for drinks including the outside patio at the Tynedale next door. Shower in room was a squeeze.

Liked: Good location, food lovely. Clean and tidy
Disliked: Single room was ok but had to stand up to look out the window to see the sea. Washing basin way too high. Difficult to wash properly without water getting everywhere. Room very hot. Not much ventilation, window didn’t open very far . Although dogs are allowed , I was woken up both mornings by a dog barking in a room close by.

Great place to stay in...

Liked: It was clean & tidy with lovely staff & the best breakfast we have ever had in a hotel
Disliked: The pillows were to hard

Mixed thoughts

Liked: Sea view room. Comfortable beds. Good sockets beside the beds, which doesn't always happen in some places. Good breakfast, which was included.
Disliked: This hotel is dog tolerant, not dog friendly. Had to eat breakfast in shifts as you can't take a dog or leave him in the room. Bathroom smelt really bad, and the shower was awful. Rear car park is way too tight to get in and out of. We had to wait 20 minutes on check out while they phoned other guests to come and move their cars so we could get out.
