Peaceful, lovely location with plenty...
Liked: Overall the food was excellent. On arrival the reception we got was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a peaceful location and The Ewe bar next door a delight.

Liked: The food was amazing, the location was incredible.
Disliked: The hotel was unaware we were coming, and when we were brought to our room there were some things missing (there was no bedside table and the lamp was on the ground; there was tea and coffee but no milk; there were no hangers in the dresser)It's clearly been renovated recently, and the things that were missing were not that big of a deal but a bit annoying having paid £290 for the night.

Liked: The hotel is situated in a perfect location in a quiet picturesque valley. It has recently been refurbished with excellent taste in a traditional fashion. The staff are enthusiastic and make every effort to please. The rooms are pleasant, well equipped, and immaculately clean with crisp bedding and comfortable pillows.
Disliked: As this hotel has only very recently re-opened after an extensive refurbishment, not unsurprisingly there were a number of teething problems that became evident. All of these should be easily remedied and the hotel has the potential to become a wonderful short-break destination.

Unbelievable stay. A real refreshing...
Liked: Hard not to like anything. Newly opened refurbished hotel. Everything was lovely and fresh . Staff were exceptional and went above and beyond. They could not have been more friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding, though limited menu whilst they get fully on their feet and recruit a full staff.
Disliked: I cannot honestly say there was't anything to dislike.As being a dog friendly hotel, they do need to put some dog waste bins somewhere, as that was lacking.

Disliked: it was my husband's 60th birthday and he had chosen this hotelwe were phoned in the evening the night before to tell us that they were unable to have guests due to renovation work- this was too late and should have been done days beforewe drove past the property and it was obvious that the work was no way near completedPoor customer care- we will not be re booking

Disliked: I showed up to check in and the hotel had cancelled my booking, notifying me by e mail at 20:54 hours the night before, when I was already travelling and with no access to the e mail. They have not cancelled the booking on booking.com (hence I am able to write this review). Under booking.com host terms they should have found me somewhere to stay and when I got there I would have been ok, but they didn't. Instead, I arrived and was walking around a derelict building looking for a door to get in. I eventually found a builder and asked where to check in. His response, "hah! You'll he be f******g lucky".Then a man who introduced himself as the hotel manager appeared and when I asked him where to check in he just said have you not read your e mails? He spoke to me as if it was my fault I hadn't read an e mail sent to me just before 9pm the day before, less than 20 hours before check in was due to open. I said I wasn't aware but clearly am now. He just looked at me as if I was stupid, so I turned around and started to walk away. He then tried to say something to me but I was too upset to hear. I just got back in my car.The place was clearly under refurbishment, It looked nowhere near finished with several bathroom suites lying around the back. It wasn't like it looked like a minor delay so they must have known before 9pm the night before!No phone call and no voicemail left. SHOCKING!Had this been cancelled properly through booking.com I would have got a notification on my phone and been able to find somewhere else to stay, but they didn't follow procedure and I was stuck, in the pouring rain, dressed for a wedding, locked out of a hotel with nowhere to stay on the day before Easter weekend.
