Great Hotel

Liked: Location is absolutely wonderful.The staff is awesome.
Disliked: Would like the restaurant and bar to open.

Value for the money, nice...

Liked: The location, included breakfast, pool, and fireside movies were very convenient and nice for the price.
Disliked: This property as of end of March 2024 is in dire need of renovation. Only the common breakfast/dining area seemed to be up-to-date; everything else: floor carpets, pool tiling, wall fixtures, elevator paneling, room wall painting/papering, and plumbing must’ve looked great in the mid-90s/2000s. Not so much nowadays. Riding that line between rustic and run-down. Totally understand that for the lower price, some expectations are easily tempered, but even the pool’s whiteboard indicated the water hadn’t been tested/treated in three days - right before a heavy use weekend! And no bathroom close by the pool; you have to go all the way back upstairs to reception to use the facilities.

Liked: Location fine. Parking fine.
Disliked: Very unpleasant smell in hallways. Good "Hotel potential" but needs updates badly in decor. Breakfast should vary each day.

Liked: Beautiful lobby and landscaping. Every room has balcony. Great free breakfast. Location between CW, BG, and Water Country is perfect. Its History and surroundings on the fort. The pools and jacuzzi are great! Overall, the quality for the price is amazing!
Disliked: No microwave in room. The hotel could use some updating and remodeling. Some of the doors could be set up for key card re-entry to save some walking to the rooms.

This place needs some TLC...

Liked: The lobby and dinning areas were beautiful! Food was ok.
Disliked: This hotel is in bad need of maintenance and updating. Wyndham needs to invest some money. It could be wonderful!! Heat didnt work, patio door lock was broke. Room wasn't cleaned well. There were items from the last stay still in the room.

It was like sleeping in...

Liked: Location and staff were nice. Also, the hotel has a pool and was built around the foundation of a historic fort. If there hadn't been bugs and mold in our room, the 1990's decor would've been nostalgic and quaint. Also the price was pretty good. If the room had been cleaner I would come back.
Disliked: There was mold growing in our room and bugs. The tennis court wasn't open and the place seemed rundown. A lot of rotten wood around the property. Seems like the owners need to put someone money into the place.
