A mistake. Everything a hotel...

Liked: If I have been disappointed with a property I usually don’t bother with a reference as I see no point in negativity for something which is a personal observation.However Forss House is just not what it purports to be. We were meant to stay in the main hotel; we were put in a rather tired cottage with steps both down and up which were dangerous, particularly to someone with two new knees under a year old. Door frames no good for someone of 6’6”. It was more like a challenging air bnb. In fact if we hadn’t booked for dinner we would not have experienced the hotel until we paid the bill. Our welcome was not that. The place is staffed with pleasant but inexperienced youngsters who have no idea about guest service. We were pointed in the general direction of our lodgings and because the sign is pointed away from you when driving in we spent a while looking for it until helped by a pleasant room attendant. No help offered with luggage, no explanation as to why we were not in the room booked.Dinner was a mistake, particularly after a super meal in Scrabster the night before. The dining room is claustrophobic, no ambiance and bumping of chairs because of close proximity.The whole place is pretentious, dated, definitely over priced and a parody of what it thinks it is
Disliked: The property, the attention to guests, the arrogance of pretending to be something it is not.
