Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club

Had a brilliant time; all the staff were cheerful and helpful - a real credit to the hotel. The breakfast was fabulous - great choice available and the restaurant food also lovely.

Disappointing

Disliked: No air-conditioning in the bedroom. Very uncomfortable in the hot weather. Golf course facilities were closed very early for the summer-time.

Liked: On a positive note, the check-in staff were friendly and the hotel reception was nice. The restaurant staff were really lovely too.
Disliked: Really disappointing. I paid £351 for a premium room here and I would have felt short changed had I paid half of that. The room is extremely dated, in desperate need of updated. Smelly old carpet and furniture straight from the 1990s. No air-con which is not ideal and the room service menu is awful - not a single vegetable on there. The bathroom too was really poor and looked very old. The shower was really bad inside a bath with a cheap tacky shower curtain and the shower itself had very low pressure. The internet speed was a measly 2Mbps too which was terrible. I would absolutely not stay here again, nor would I recommend it based on the quality of the room, the bathroom and the other shortcomings listed above. My advice would be to strongly avoid this place.

Liked: The setting was lovely and the staff were pleasant and helpful.The breakfast buffet was good.We didn't use the leisure facilities so can't comment.
Disliked: Our "deluxe" room was tired and outdated and lacked almost anything that you would expect from a hotel room today. Dark brown varnished furniture, a mattress topper that did not disguise the uncomfortable mattress underneath, a dribble of a shower over a bath with a plastic shower curtain, no air vent in the bathroom, no heated towel rail, no extra toiletries, no USB points, no bottled water, no fridge.. An ancient fan in the wardrobe instead of air conditioning and a window with a blown pane that didn't shut properly. We stay in hotels regularly, so are in a good position to make comparisons. We really expect a lot more than this for £220 per night. Very disappointing.P. S. If you value your tyres drive slowly down the pot holed driveway.

Nice but slightly expensive stay.

Liked: Nice setting which was easy to find, with plenty of parking. Plenty of staff, all very helpful. Excellent breakfast. Clean, comfortable room.
Disliked: Room had an interconnecting door through which I could hear every word of my neighbour, no sound proofing whatsoever.
