Don't be fooled by the...
Liked: The location to downtown Boulder is close enough to be convenient and the park across.the street is very cool. The place looks really nice at night with the lights all lit up.I bet this would be great for hiking folks etc not looking to stay in the room long. For $180+/night I'd expect more from a 4.5 star rating on Booking.com
Disliked: The ratings are just too high for this property here. It is clearly an outdated motel with a tiny shower and lackluster perks. Coffee and breakfast were not ready on Sunday for checkout at 8 even when it's advertised to be available at 7, and coffee all day.The sheets had what looked like cigarette burns or coffee stains on it. I hope that's what it was. Bed was old and springy.Shower is tiny but worse is that the hot water is unreliable. The shower head also can fall on you during said shower.Understand this is a motel but it seems like it's been on a downslide since 2017... the last date of their TripAdvisor plaque.not sure why it is so high in ratings....

Liked: Wonderful classic motel style accommodation. Right by the river and a short walk from town.

Liked: The staff that I interacted with were very friendly and nice. The pillows were soft and the linens had a fresh smell.
Disliked: The carpet was dirty, the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The decor was dark and gloomy. The lighting was dim and very old looking. The bathroom shower was stained and the shower curtain looked old and stained. The window screen was full of dust and dead bugs. It?s such a shame because the motel is in a great location and has such potential. One would hope the owners would take more pride in their property and update the inside of the units and put time and work into the landscaping. There is a beautiful backdrop of the mountains behind the motel but the property itself is covered in weeds. Such a shame and definitely not worth the close to $900 I spent on 4 nights. We were in unit 17 ... who knows, maybe we just got stuck in the oldest and ugliest unit, but it doesn?t seem likely that the other units were any better. Please owners ... reinvest in your property and help this motel reach the potential it has!!

Liked: This is an old style, retro motel. Very charming and a delight for those who like the style. If you're interested in sleek, modern conveniences, this isn't the place for you.
Disliked: The breakfast situation is a little cramped, and no hot buffet, but decent choices. Suited our tastes just fine.

Charming old fashioned venue.
Liked: Close to the mountains. Quietness, little river near the motel, very friendly stuff.

Unique little hotel with nice...
Liked: Simple but nice motel. The location of foot of the mountain is great, it?s right near the river park and walking distance to pearl street, a nice walk too. Staff at both check in and out were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast that was provided outside on the benches with the squirrels.
Disliked: Rooms need to be updated, especially the bathroom. Was quite expensive for what it was, but Boulder is also an expensive area so it?s maybe the real estate there is just that much, not sure.

Great place to come back...
Liked: The cottages were built in the 1930s and still retain much of the charm and quaintness of that time. Location was beautiful and great for seeing other sites. The breakfast served in the main building was casual and sufficient -- included hard boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, fresh fruit, bagels, coffee, tea, and juices. There were many picnic tables surrounding the cottages so you could take in the view while eating breakfast. If you want a little bit of a rugged experience but don't like camping, this is the perfect place. Rooms were clean and equipped with TV, air, and fridge.
Disliked: The cold water handle on the shower faucet kept slipping out of place while showering so we had to take turns holding the handle while the other person showered. We told the staff and they looked into it right away. The issue was corrected for a short time, but then the handle started slipping back. Minor inconvenience which made us laugh more than be annoyed.
