Great location, decent value, but...

Liked: The location is lovely. There are some great footpaths near to the hotel. Rye is a short drive away.
Disliked: We opted not to have any meals in the restaurant at the hotel. It is very brightly lit and the decor is a bit disappointing for a country house hotel. I suspect that the main users of the restaurant are the elderly.

Liked: Very nice food and friendly staff. Breakfast also very nice.
Disliked: The pool is not very large and gets a bit crowded if there are like 6 swimmers in it at the same time.

Disliked: Somewhat dated bedroom furniture. Misted glazing on bedroom window. Tired bathroom

Liked: Large room with French doors out onto small patio with view over woods and gardens
Disliked: It's only a small point but it was a bit of a walk from the reception to the room right at the back of the house but it was worth it. Quite, restful and beautiful views
