Exceptional

You get what you pay...

Liked: Very close to jfk. With shuttle. Right next to fast food.
Disliked: The AC was terrible, air came through it. Walls ripped, rusty vents. Tried to be cheap, you get what you pay for!

Liked: This was not hotel I would ever choose to stay in, but for what it was, which was a necessity due to airline flight issues that caused our flight originally leaving at 5pm to now leaving the next morning, it was a place to lay our head
Disliked: The airport shuttle was awful. I have never stayed in a hotel where the airport shuttle drops you off at the Rental car facility rather then making stops at airline terminals. This cause us more undue stress and anxiety trying to then get to our Terminal

Liked: Close enough to JFK with quite a few fast food joints. Felt safe enough at night to walk to the food places.
Disliked: The misinformation regarding not going to Federal Circle for pickup from the canned email from booking.com

Liked: The staff were very nice and accommodating.
Disliked: The facility is very dated, 1950’s? The price for a room should be more in line with the condition of the facility. Not almost $500 for a night.

Liked: Airport shuttle was dependable and responded in reasonable time when called late at night. The breakfast is not really much, but the coffee is hot and ready. There are a couple of other very close options for a more filling breakfast. The staff and service are EXCELLENT. The guys at the front desk were very responsive (Frankie and John). On the day we left, we had changes in air reservations, and I suddenly needed to get TO the airport ASAP. They got the shuttle driver to make another trip with just us, asking only that we 'take care of him', so we gave him a nice tip. We needed extra towels for our party of three and when I asked the maid on our floor, she immediately got them to us, noting that they were still 'warm out of the dryer'. And she said clearly that if we needed anything else, to just come and find her. :). the hotel's WiFi worked just fine. It was quiet at night as well.
Disliked: Well, there's probably nothing that can be done about it, but I rated the value LOW. This is more of a general statement. Hotels in NY anywhere near JFK are ridiculously expensive. The Five Towns was fine, a nice locally-run hotel. But in all honesty and being generous, the rooms and breakfast are maybe worth about $150 on today's market, and it was over a $100 more. Again, local 'chain' hotels in the same situation are even more, but just on principle, it's way overpriced.
